Evaluation: Summary

Overall, I am sorry about the amout of text and the lack of images during the evaluation but as long as the information is there, the amout of pictures in my opinion, do not matter.

EVALUATION: Question Seven

Question Seven: Looking back at your preliminary task, what do you feel you have learnt in the progression from the beginning to the full product?

I believe I have learnt the following:

-          Skills in Photoshop: I believe that during the course of this task, my Photoshop skills have improved at a steady rate. I could hardly be called a beginner but as the course took its place, in my spare time, while not planning or developing my creative media product, I was taking tutorials and improving my skills in Photoshop. I may not be advanced in the programme (Yet) but I could at least be classed as adept using the software.

-          Skills in Time-Planning: Planning out all of my tasks was essential. I had to create a timetable of when I would work on my media product and what part of the product I would be working on. I have improved my time planning as usually, I almost never work on a project at home but I used my willpower to force myself to at certain times/days.

Skills in Photography: I borrowed a camera on multiple occasions during the task  and to be honest, I rarely use a camera, the only times being when I had to take photographs of rare Exotic Cars with my cousin and taking group photo’s which I used in my magazine. I borrowed the camera and took photographs of a friend next to a wall after being denied access to the photography studio after waiting several hours for permission. I also borrowed the camera and took other photos while exploring the local town, taking pictures of what might be useful such as a radio antenna which could represent a radio channel. After learning how to use the new camera I believe that my skills in both using a camera and of photography have done nothing but improve.

-

Skills in Planning and Development: Creating a magazine takes time and multiple stages to complete and this is where I learnt and improved my planning and development. I improved my planning as mentioned in ‘Skills in Time-Planning’ but also in planning out my media product’s looks and text.

-          Skills in Problem Solving: l During the task as expected and unavoidable, I ran into multiple problems during the Planning, creation of the magazine, photography and many other areas  but after putting my morale and willpower to the ultimate test, I managed to overcome all of these problems after trying again and again and thus, after overcoming many obstacles that were in my path of righteousness, an example being the fact that I struggled finding people suitable and reliable to be in my magazine but I overcame that problem by using photos that I had taken in good quality in previous years.  I feel like I have improved my Problem solving skills by a great deal.

Skills in Computing: During the Course, my laptop (Notebook) broke down while I was running a programme and The Notebook was necessary to completing my work at the time.  After tweaking around with it for an hour, I managed to find the fault which was a loose wire on the inside and after reattaching and checking everything inside, I put the notebook back together and was able to continue with my work. Because I was able to repair my notebook, I believe that I improved myself in computing and repairing broken Electronics. Helpful to have repaired my notebook although not helpful to misplace the notebook a day after completing the work
